Zara Dampney is a London 2012 Beach Volleyball Olympian who wants to encourage younger people to get involved in high level sport.
Zara has always loved sport of all kinds, during school it was a love for athletics especially and volleyball.
She began playing Indoor Volleyball for South West England and then South and then England juniors, followed by Seniors.
When the London 2012 Olympics was announced Zara decided to switch to Beach Volleyball as that is what she wanted to become a professional at.
She climbed up the world rankings and qualified to represent GB in London 2012.
Zara worked on the Sporting Champions programme, helping to make an impact on young people’s lives and raise their aspirations, and is now looking to inspire your audience by sharing her secret of what it takes to be the best you can!
Zara had such a positive impact by attending the session, she showed the girls what can be achieved by dreaming big and working hard!
